Oh, I totally know what you are saying...they have actually done studies and experts are saying they have found a definite link between the two. My sons Psychiatrist just said that the other day. I don't care what they call it...I just hope they find a cure for it so my poor kid can lead a "normal" and productive life...and just be a kid!![SMILE]

My 7 year old son has ADHD...as well as Bipolar...I worked on a child psych unit for 5 years as a charge RN....believe me, it exists!! However, I do agree that there are times where this is too easily diagnosed and inappropriately treated. I have seen that as well. Education about these disorders is imperative. Society and families need to know what the true symptoms are, have access to professionals who know the difference between normal kid stuff and abnormal mental health symptoms. It frustrates me to know that many people don't believe in mental health disorders. It is just as easy for a person to have an abnormality of the brain as it is an abnormality or disfunction of any other organ in the human body. It is after all a very highly complex organ that affects the entire body!! I think the some of the reasons it is more prevalent today is that we know more about it. We did not know about a lot of diseases and disorders that we do know about today thanks to modern medicine!! Thanks for bringing this topic up!! [THUMBUP]
Yes, I have researched and found that children cycle rapidly unlike adults....so, they are much harder to stabilize. But, the good thing is they have done studies and shown that the earlier a person is diagnosed and treated...the less severe the cycling and disorder is later in life!! Ya just have to grin and bear it I guess.....roll with the punches (literally), and put it all in His hands.....Great to hear from you!![HEART]
Thanks for the warm welcome....looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!![SMILE]

You are SO not alone!!! I have struggled with my weight since I had my first child 12 years ago. I had an incredible body up until I became pregnant and gained 80# !! I think about how fat I am on a daily basis, I'm NOT happy or secure with it, and I DO have a lot of health problems because of it. I'm only 32 and I want to have fun and love myself for who I am....but I feel like a thin person trapped in a fat body. Kudos to you for being able to love yourself and the skin you are in!! I just wish that some people would learn that fat people have feelings too and it does not mean we are lazy, gross, stupid....or any of those other horrible things that we are so often called !!! You go girl !![THUMBUP]
